A soft baritone and an achingly pure soprano, sounds of a tender cello and an antique grand piano… The results of the 4th International Musical Competition for Young Performers were announced in Vyatskoe. Vesti has visited the gala concert.

“From a crystal-clean beginning to a nice and joyful future, I’m going straight ahead”.

Many of them are really just starting out in the world of music. Their ages ranging from 7 to 33 years old. All of them are winners of awards and special jury prizes.

“Any contest is a huge responsibility and a difficult job,” People’s Artist of the Russian Federation Edgard Zapashny explained.

“The competition is taking place at an extremely difficult time. I don’t have to tell you, that we are probably one of the few people in the world today, who hold an offline competition,” said the Director of the contest and Opera singer Lyubov Kazarnovskaya.

Four award categories, two stages and two hundred participants from all over Russia and neighboring countries. It took jury almost two months to select the best.

“All the winners have received cash prizes. We have a prize fund of 1 380 000 rubles,” Elena Shahova, General Manager of the Vyatskoe Historical and Cultural Center explained.

But it’s not the presidential grant’s money that’s the most valuable for the contestants, but the opportunities, new knowledge, and workshops from opera stars.

He is already being called a future opera star. But he gets embarrassed. Alexander Yershov is our fellow citizen from Yaroslavl. By the age of twenty, he has won multiple awards and has already received an award of the competition in Vyatskoe twice.

“The level of the contestants is certainly incredibly high, for sure. But that kind of inspires me. Gives me something to strive for”, said the winner of the contest Alexander Yershov.

All of them, young and talented, promise to come back to Vyatskoe next year.
