The renovated Monument to the Soldiers of the Great Patriotic War opened in Orekhovo village, Spassky district

The opening ceremony was attended by the Minister of Culture and Tourism of the region Vitaly Popov, Deputy Minister for Territorial Affairs and Information Policy Ivan Ushakov, representatives of the administrations of the Spassky district and Lakashinsky rural settlement, the K. E. Tsiolkovsky Museum, Izhevskoe, Spassky district, and the Association of Private and People’s Museums of Russia.

The monument to the Soldiers of the Great Patriotic War was erected back in the 1970s. The renovation and landscaping were carried out by the Association of Private and People’s Museums of Russia with the support of the village residents and the municipality’s administration.

The exhibitions were open all day in the memorial complex, including the Immortal Regiment of Valaam by the private traveling museum of Ivan Martsenyuk, the Weapons of Victory by the private museum Sinyavinskie Heights, Kasimov, Ryazan region — the exhibition of the Ryazan regional branch of the Russian Search movement, and the photo exhibition Our Victory. The Groundbreaking Ceremony of the new Orekhovo Museum and Educational Complex, which will house the World Calligraphy Museum, the Museum of Russian Gusli and Chinese plucked string instrument Guqin, as well as some other private museums, took place on the same day.  In addition, representatives of the Tsiolkovsky Museum and the Association of Private and People’s Museums of Russia signed a cooperation agreement.
