The Museum of the Feelin’s Band

We are pleased to welcome a new member of the Association of Private and People’s Museums of Russia – The Museum of the Feelin’s Band. The founder of the museum is Filin Gennady Anatolyevich.

The museum of Gennady Filin’s Feelin’s band from Ryazan is a unique history of creation and development of the musical group that started as a student jazz ensemble at the Ryazan Radio-Technical Institute (nowadays RRTI) in 1983 and turned into a professional band.

The group can be called a visiting card of the native city, it tours all over Russia and abroad. Since 2000 Feelin’s is a municipal collective of the native city of Ryazan.

The group has many projects: author’s jazz and jazz-rock, “Retro of the Soviet era”, “Let’s believe in miracles” program with schoolchildren and, of course, the famous “EseninJazz” with Italian vocalist Boris Savoldelli.

The group has co-operated and recorded albums with outstanding musicians of the present day. Among them are Russian jazz leader Igor Butman; multiple Grammy winner American saxophonist Bill Evans; European jazz leader, head of the Brussels International Jazz Orchestra Frank Vaganee; member of the greatest orchestra Art Blacky The Jazz Messengers Russian and American trumpeter Valery Ponomarev and others.

The band’s work can be safely called a soundtrack to a time of change that began in the mid-80s of the last century and is only gaining momentum year by year.

Music albums, articles, books, posters, booklets, awards – behind each exhibit there is a concrete contribution of the group to the culture of the native land, Russia and the world, with each of them there are exciting stories and, most importantly, the fate of each member of the group.
