Friends, great news! We have a new team member in the museum! Please, welcome Mikhail Ustimov, Head of the Retro Cars Garage, Head of Automotive History Research!

The city is a major center of the domestic automotive industry – the GAZ Gorky Automobile Plant and the ZMZ Zavolzhsky Motor Plant have earned it this well-deserved title. And of course, the job of the museum is to preserve the engineering and design heritage, to tell dear visitors about the evolution of motor vehicle production in our city and country and to preserve history.

Mikhail is a collector of retro cars and an automotive industry expert. He is engaged in preserving the history of the domestic car industry, motor vehicle repair and restoration, its study and exhibitions. Mikhail owns a unique collection of cars and motorcycles, including both cars made by our Gorky plant and by other Soviet plants. The collection contains a GAZ-24-34 a.k.a. “Chaser”, created for the Soviet Intelligence Service, a GAZ-24-17 taxi, the legendary GAZ M-20 Pobeda, a passenger car of the 50s-70s GAZ-21, a Moskvich-400, an export Zaporozhets ZAZ-966, VAZ-2103, an extremely rare low-tonnage UAZ-450, a ZIL-130 tanker truck, a Jawa-250 motorcycle and many other fascinating retro cars, including military vehicles.
