Look and search for your heroic ancestors: the museum founder in the village of Golyany published a list of fellow countrymen, who participated in the Great Patriotic War

The home museum founder in the Udmurt village of Golyany, Alexander Kuznetsov, has published a book, “There Are Sometimes No Names Left of Heroes of the Old Times,” which includes a complete list of Golyan residents who participated in the Great Patriotic War. The list contains not only the year of birth, last name, first name, patronymic, but also the military rank and qualification of a participant in the Great Patriotic War, sometimes the number of the military unit where they served, awards. This is greatly different from the lists on the monuments installed in the villages of the region, since only their surname and initials are indicated on them. Sometimes it is not possible to determine from them exactly which of the Golyan people who died during the war they belong to.

The book “There Are Sometimes No Names Left of Heroes of the Old Times” was released on the eve of the 75th anniversary celebration of the Soviet people victory in World War II. It became the fifth book of Alexander Kuznetsov, dedicated to the 400th anniversary of the first mention of the Golyany and Doksha villages.

In total, the founder of an unusual museum, the exposition of which includes ancient books, weapons, kitchen utensils, jewelry, agriculture tools, fishing items and much more, plans to publish fourteen books by the anniversary date, which will be celebrated in 2021. All of them tell about the history of the Golyan region: significant events, trade, industry, school education, land matters, vital objects and local attractions.
