A new exhibition in the Irbit Museum of the History of Technology

The Irbit Museum of the History of Technology devotes great attention to the patriotic education of the youth in the Sverdlovsk region and actively pursues contracts and cooperation agreements.

In order to organize and conduct joint patriotic events, a cooperation agreement establishing the branch of the museum of the District Officer’s House was signed. The agreement was signed by Mikhail Smerdov, Director of the Centre for the Revival of Cultural and Historical Heritage and Sergey Konov, Acting Head of the Federal State Budgetary Institution of Culture and Art “Officer’s House of the Central Military District” under the Russian Ministry Of Defense.

The Museum of the Officer’s House and the Museum of the History of Technology have many similarities. To name a few, both museums have created repositories of history which are as close as possible to the realities of a bygone era and allow guests to feel the breath of that time. Both exhibitions, dedicated to the great deeds of the inhabitants of the Middle Urals, tell about their military and labor achievements and through sound effects allow you to look into the mirror of history and travel back to the military past for a few moments. And most importantly, in both museums almost all events are shown through the lives of people from our homeland. One of the exhibitions in the Museum of the Officer’s House “The History of the Russian Armed Forces in the Post-War Period of 1945-2015” explores the topic of the post-war development in the Ural Military District and the participation of the Urals inhabitants in local military operations. Unfortunately, this topic has not yet been sufficiently covered in the Museum of the History of Technology. Under the agreement, Irbit will get new, more detailed and in-depth information about events concerning the truth about the Great Patriotic War and local military operations, in which our fellow citizens participated.

On the same day, Sergey Anatolyevich handed over to the Museum of the History of Technology artifacts for the new exhibition, which will be opened in April.

The museum is a member of the Association of Private and People’s Museums of Russia.
