About museum

The Volgograd entrepreneur V. V. Bukhtienko proved his respect for veterans by building the Stalin Museum at the country’s highest point: “… To express many thanks to our fathers and grandfathers who defended the Fatherland and gave us life …”

Our museum is made up of three halls.

The 1st hall will show you a little-known, but quite significant period of the activity of J. V. Stalin: his work in Tsaritsyn during the civil war (1918).

In the 2nd hall you will learn the history of the renaming of Tsaritsyn into Stalingrad, as well as see unique documents and exhibits that characterize the pre-war period of city life and the life of the leader (1925-1961).

The 3rd is the most impressive hall for all visitors. The exposition reproduces all the elements of J. V. Stalin’s cabinet from 1942-1943 with precision. In the center of the room is the figure of the leader as he was in the days of the Battle of Stalingrad. Perhaps this particular hall will become decisive for you in assessing the life and work of J. V. Stalin.
