The Holy Mount Athos Icon Museum

The idea came to Anastasia Verbitskaya, this is a private and family collection of icons.

The main activities of the museum include the formation and storage of collections, research work, organization of permanent exhibitions, as well as cultural and educational activities.

“By creating our museum of icons “Holy Mount Athos”, we wanted to show the millennial spiritual unity of Russia and Athos, the influence of the Holy Mountain on the spiritual life of Russian cloisters on the example of icons painted in the second half of the XIX – early XX centuries in Athos monasteries, Serafim-Diveyevo monastery, Holy Trinity St. Sergius Lavra.”
